Lightning Sign D Geoff Kinrade to Tryout

TAMPA BAY, FL – The Tampa Bay Lightning, NHL parent club of the Norfolk Admirals, have signed defenseman Geoff Kinrade to an Amateur Tryout Contract, it was announced today by Lightning Executive Vice President and General Manager Brian Lawton.

Kinrade, a 6-foot-0, 195-pound native of Nelson, British Columbia, has one goal and four points with a plus-3 rating in eight games with the Admirals this season. He was originally signed to an Amateur Tryout Contract by the Admirals on March 20 and made his professional debut that night, scoring the game-winning goal on his first professional shot in his first professional game – a 4-2 victory over the Binghamton Senators.

The 23-year-old served as an alternate captain with Michigan Tech this season. In 38 games, Kinrade scored three goals and added 13 assists with 18 penalty minutes, tying for fourth on the team in scoring and tying for second in assists.
