Fall Puck Crawl to benefit the Officer Decker Memorial Fund is Today
NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk Admirals and The Noblemen will hold the Admirals Fall Puck Crawl to benefit the Officer Victor Decker Memorial Fund today (Saturday, November 6, 2010) from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m.
"Officer Decker was an asset to the community," said Admirals defenseman Ty Wishart. "He was there before and after Admirals games, keeping everything safe for the fans. He will be greatly missed on Granby Street – it won't be the same without him. I know that I speak for the entire team when I say that we will be happy to support his family in any way we can. Please join us for Saturday's Puck Crawl and help us raise funds for the Officer Victor Decker Memorial Fund, which will benefit his wife Dawn and daughter Charlotte."
Registration for the Admirals Fall Puck Crawl is only $25. Online registration is now closed. If you have not registered for the Puck Crawl yet and wish to do so, you may register with $25 cash at Baxter's Sports Lounge after 2:30 p.m. today (Saturday, November 6). Checks and credit cards cannot be accepted on the day of the event. Click here for more information.
Registration includes discounted food and beverages at participating Downtown Norfolk establishments, a Puck Crawl tee shirt, raffle prizes, promotional items and a ticket to the Admirals game against the Charlotte Checkers on Saturday night at 7:15 p.m. Proceeds from the registration fee will go to the Officer Victor Decker Memorial Fund, established to assist Officer Decker's family.
Check-in will begin on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Baxter's Sports Lounge.
The event, which was originally scheduled for last week, was moved to this Saturday out of respect for Norfolk police officer Victor Decker. Fans who had already registered for the Puck Crawl will have their registration honored on Saturday. If those fans cannot attend on Saturday their registration fees may be refunded or donated to the Officer Victor Decker Memorial Fund by contacting the Admirals.
