Leading Scorer Pouliot Returns to Admirals from Lightning

TAMPA BAY, Fla. – The Tampa Bay Lightning, NHL parent club of the Norfolk Admirals, have reassigned forward Marc-Antoine Pouliot (MAHRK an-TWAHN POO-l'yaht) to the Admirals, Lightning Vice President and General Manager Steve Yzerman announced today.

Pouliot, a 6-foot-2, 193-pound center from Québec City, Québec, appeared in a pair of games and posted two shots with the Lightning after being recalled on Friday. He has appeared in three total games with Tampa Bay this season where he has averaged 10:46 of ice time.

Pouliot has appeared in 19 games with Norfolk this season, registering eight goals, 16 assists and 24 points with a plus-11 rating. He is tied for the team lead in points and leads the Admirals in assists. He ranks among the top 20 of all AHL players in assists and plus/minus.

A sixth-year pro, he has appeared in 179 career NHL games between the Lightning and Oilers, scoring 21 goals and 53 points. In 176 career AHL games between the Admirals, Falcons, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Hamilton Bulldogs, Pouliot has scored 59 goals and 153 points. Pouliot was drafted by the Oilers in the first round (22nd overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Pouliot was signed by Tampa Bay as a free agent on July 23, 2010.

The Admirals return to Scope on Friday and Saturday to battle the Albany Devils. Friday night is Scout Night through the Tidewater Boy Scout Council. The Admirals' Annual Toy Toss will take place Saturday night. Admirals fans are asked to bring new stuffed toys to the game to throw onto the ice after the Admirals score their first goal. The Toy Toss is an official U.S. Marine Corps Toys For Tots event and a Norfolk Holidays In The City Event.

Also on Saturday, Admirals fans will receive the first set of Admirals trading cards and can participate in a post-game skate with the team following the game. A limited number of skates will be available or fans may bring their own skates.
