Chris Durno Named Captain of Admirals

NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk Admirals have named Chris Durno as team captain for the 2010-11 season, Admirals Head Coach Jon Cooper announced today.

In addition, Mitch Fritz and Mathieu Roy ("mah-TYOO WAH") have been named alternate captains for home games while Mike Angelidis ("an-jehl-EED-his") and Scott Jackson have been named alternate captains for road games.

"Chris Durno is a natural leader for the Admirals," said Cooper upon making the announcement. "He has earned his way through the professional ranks from the ECHL to the NHL. He has played over 550 professional games – including more than 50 playoff games. His experience has been and will continue to be invaluable to this team as we look to develop the future of the Tampa Bay Lightning and bring a winning tradition back to Norfolk."
