Admirals’ Winless Skid Hits Five Games With Shutout Loss at Hershey
HERSHEY, Penn. – The Norfolk Admirals (18-9-6-2) sent 22 shots on net but were unable to solve netminder Braden Holtby as they fell to the Hershey Bears (21-13-0-1), 2-0, on Sunday evening at Giant Center. The Admirals are winless in their last five games (0-3-1-1) and will return to Norfolk next weekend to battle the Connecticut Whale on Friday and Saturday nights at Norfolk Scope Arena.
Hershey took a 1-0 lead midway through the first period on the power play. Kyle Greentree banked a shot from the right corner through traffic and between the post and left side of Admirals goaltender Dustin Tokarski at 11:34.
The Bears’ lead doubled 7:32 into the second period. Keith Aucoin sent a cross-ice feed from the left circle to Zach Miskovic at the bottom of the right circle. Miskovic one-timed the puck past the right leg of Tokarski for a 2-0 Hershey lead.
The Admirals sent 11 shots on net in the third period but were unable to solve Holtby.
Dustin Tokarski (24 shots, 22 saves) took the loss. Braden Holtby (22 shots, 22 saves) earned the win.
Norfolk was 0-4 on the power play. Hershey was 1-6.
The Admirals return to Scope next weekend to battle the Connecticut Whale on Friday and Saturday nights.
