NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk Admirals (28-16-8-3) were unable to get any of their 35 shots past goaltender Brad Thiessen as they fell to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (41-15-0-0), 3-0, on Friday night at Norfolk Scope Arena. The same two teams battle again tomorrow night at Scope at 7:15 p.m. Prior to that, the Admirals Alumni Game occurs at Scope at 4:00 p.m.
Mike Smith stopped 18 of 20 shots for Norfolk.
Ben Street gave the Penguins a 1-0 lead just 1:10 into the first period. Zach Sill doubled the visitors' lead 11:11 into the first period. Street then iced the game with an empty-net goal with 1:13 remaining in regulation.
Norfolk was 0-5 on the power play. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton was 0-3
