Admirals Move into a Fourth-Place Tie with 4-3 Come-From-Behind Victory

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J.- Mark Barberio and Mattias Ritola each recorded a three-point night as the Norfolk Admirals defeated the Albany Devils, 4-3, at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey on Sunday evening. With the come-from-behind victory, the Admirals move into a fourth-place in the AHL's East Division with the Binghamton Senators.

In just his second game since returning from the NHL, Johan Harju registered a goal and two assists while Troy Milam had a goal and an assist to lead the Admirals. Mark Barberio netted his seventh goal of the season and Blair Jones scored the game-winner early in the third period, as the Admirals recorded five of a possible six points this weekend.

Troy Milam gave the Admirals the 1-0 lead with his team-leading sixth power play goal of the campaign. As the Admirals enjoyed a five-on-three man advantage, defenseman Mark Barberio fed a pass to Milam who was standing on the Devils' blue line. Milam fired a slap shot through a screen that snuck through the five-hole of Devils' goaltender Jeff Frazee for his eleventh goal of the season at the 9:07 mark of the opening period.

The Admirals doubled their lead with their second power play goal of the game. Admirals' goal-leader Johan Harju fired a shot on net from the low slot that deflected off Frazee and directly to defenseman Mark Barberio. Barberio chipped the rebound over the sprawling Frazee for his seventh goal of the season with less than ten minutes remaining in the first period.

Adam Henrique drew the Devils within one when he netted his 19th goal of the season. Henrique picked up a centering shot off the stick of Steve Zalewski and tipped the shot over the shoulder of Admirals net minder Dustin Tokarski with less than four minutes remaining in the period.

The Devils knotted the game at 2-2, just over five minutes into the second period. As the teams skated four-on-four, Olivier Magnan sent a wrist shot that was turned aside by Tokarski. The rebound carried directly to Devils\' defenseman Jay Leach who fired the rebound over Tokarski for his second goal since being acquired by the Devils.

The Devils would take a 3-2 lead with a power play goal of their own. With less than four minutes remaining in the second period, Matt Anderson recovered a rebound off the pads of Admirals net minder Tokarski. Anderson slipped the rebound through the legs of Tokarski for his 18th goal of the season.

Twenty-three seconds into the third period, the Admirals would start their comeback. The Admirals knotted the game at 3-3 with their second five-on-three power play tally of the evening. Johan Harju skated from behind the Devils' net on the stick-side of goaltender Mike McKenna, who had come on to replace Frazee in between the pipes. Harju snuck the wrap-around shot under the stick of McKenna to record his 19th goal of the season.

Four minutes after Harju tied the game, Blair Jones capped off the scoring when he gave the Admirals the 4-3 lead. Defenseman Troy Milam dropped a pass back to Jones, whose initial shot was turned aside. Jones recovered the rebound and sent a backhand shot over the sprawling McKenna at the 4:39 mark of the third period.

Dustin Tokarski turned aside 17 shots in recording his 14th victory of the season. Mike McKenna turned aside three of five shots he faced to take the loss before being replaced by Jeff Frazee, who had started the game in net but was replaced by McKenna to begin the third period.

The Admirals were 3 of 7 with the man advantage while the Devils were 1 of 2 on the power play.
