– Having just completed the longest road trip of the season, the Norfolk Admirals will return to Scope for a first-place showdown with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Wednesday night. Immediately after the game, the Admirals will commence a four-game road trip.
The second half of Norfolk's seven-game road trip started off with a 1-0 loss to the Albany Devils
on Friday. The Admirals then traveled to Bridgeport, Connecticut, where the Sound Tigers held on to defeat the Admirals, 3-2

would make sure the Admirals finished the week with a win by stopping 37 Providence shots on Sunday, while his teammates put up three goals to secure the 3-0 shutout victory
over the Bruins.
The Admirals will host the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins Wednesday and then hit the road once again, returning to Albany on Friday and Wilkes-Barre on Saturday. At 8-4-0-1 (17 points), the Admirals are in first place in the American Hockey League's East Division. The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (7-2-1-1, 16 points), trail Norfolk by one point. Behind the Penguins by two points are the Hershey Bears (6-3-2-0, 14 points). The Syracuse Crunch (5-3-2-1, 13 points) and the Binghamton Senators (5-6-1-1, 12 points) round out the East Division. - Carter Ashton leads the AHL in goals (11) and is tied for third in points (16).
- Goalie Dustin Tokarski has two shutouts, putting him in a five-way tie for first in the AHL.
- After stopping 57 of 58 shots over two games last week, Tokarski's goals-against average dropped from 3.39 to 2.54 and his save percentage rose from .864 to .903.
Among AHL rookies, Norfolk has the top two point scorers in Carter Ashton (16) and Corey Conacher (14).
- Leading all AHL defensemen in points is Admirals defender Mark Barberio with (11) he also leads all defensemen in PP points with (7).
- The Admirals have won six games when scoring first, tied for second most in the AHL.
- Norfolk is fifth in the AHL in power play efficiency scoring 26.4% of the time (14/53).
- First period scoring is a major strength of Norfolk as they are tied for the league lead with 16 opening period goals.
- Of the 10,672 shots taken in the AHL this season, Norfolk accounts for 501 of them, 31 more than the next closest team (Providence, 480).
- With the all the shooting by Norfolk, they also lead the league in scoring with 51 goals, 3.92 a game.
