NORFOLK, Va. – This evening, the Norfolk Admirals became the first team to clinch a berth in the 2012 Calder Cup Playoffs.

The Admirals clinched the playoff berth tonight by virtue of their 7-2 victory over the Charlotte Checkers combined with a 5-1 loss by the Portland Pirates to the Springfield Falcons.
