Scoring Leader Peter Holland Re-Joins Admirals; Emerson Etem Recalled by Anaheim Ducks


ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Anaheim Ducks, NHL parent club of the AHL's Norfolk Admirals, have returned forward Peter Holland to the Admirals and have recalled forward Emerson Etem from Norfolk.

Holland, 6-foot-2, 192 pounds, leads the Admirals in goals and points this season. He has appeared in 39 games with Norfolk, registering 16 goals and 35 points with 58 penalty minutes. In 113 career AHL games between the Admirals and Syracuse Crunch, Holland has 42 goals and 103 points.

A 21-year-old native of Toronto, Ontario, Holland has appeared in five games with Anaheim this season, netting one goal with an even plus/minus rating and four penalty minutes while averaging 9:55 of ice time. In nine career NHL games with the Ducks, Holland has two goals and six penalty minutes.

Holland was selected by Anaheim in the first round (15th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. In 256 career games with the OHL's Guelph Storm, he netted 103 goals and 257 points.

Etem, 6-foot-0, 202 pounds, has appeared in eight games with Anaheim this season, posting two assists, a plus-1 rating and two penalty minutes while averaging 9:12 of ice time. Etem made his NHL debut on Jan. 29 at San Jose and registered his first NHL points with a pair of assists on Feb. 2 vs. Los Angeles.

The native of Long Beach, California, has appeared in 45 games for the Admirals in his first full pro season, posting 13 goals and 16 points. He is tied for second in goals and is fifth in scoring on the team. Etem has appeared in 47 career AHL games between the Admirals and Syracuse Crunch, scoring 14 goals and 17 points. Etem has also skated in four Calder Cup Playoff games, netting two goals.

Etem, 20, was selected by Anaheim in the first round (29th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He recorded 143 goals and 252 points in 202 junior games with the Western Hockey League's Medicine Hat Tigers. Last season, Etem led all CHL players (QMJHL, OHL and WHL) with 61 goals in 65 games.
