Admirals Release Forward Chad Painchaud from PTO Contract
NORFOLK, VA -- The Norfolk Admirals announced Tuesday that the team has released right wing Chad Painchaud from his Professional Tryout Contract (PTO).
Painchaud, 27, scored a goal with nine penalty minutes in seven games played with the Admirals this season. Painchaud will now return to the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL where he recorded 24 points (9g, 15a) in 19 games played.
Last season, the 6-1, 184-pound winger collected 56 points (20g, 36a) in 46 games played with the Wichita Thunder of the Central Hockey League. Painchaud helped lead the Thunder to a President's Cup Finals appearance posting 13 points (4g, 9a) in 15 playoff games.
The Mississauga, Ontario native has logged nine points (4g, 5a) in 40 career American Hockey League games split between Chicago (2007-08), Iowa (2008-09), and Manitoba (2009-10). In total, Painchaud has amassed 374 career points (153g, 221a) in 411 professional games, which includes a career best 68-point and 30-goal season with Victoria (ECHL) in 2009-10. Painchaud is a 2004 fourth-round draft selection of the Atlanta Thrashers.
Next Home Game & Promotions: The Admirals return home to Scope for a pair of games on Friday and Saturday against the Hartford Wolf Pack. Friday's game is Military Appreciation Night presented by USAA. All military personnel can purchase tickets for just $11 when they present their valid military I.D. to the Scope Box Office.
