ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed center Antoine Laganiere to a one-year contract through the upcoming 2014-15 season.
Laganiere, 24, played 76 games in his rookie season for Anaheim's primary development affiliate in the American Hockey league (AHL), the Norfolk Admirals. His first professional season after four years at Yale University included 10 goals and eight assists along with a minus-9 rating on the ice. The Quebec native skated in four Calder Cup Playoff games going scoreless with two penalty minutes.
The 6'4", 215-pound lefty enjoyed a long and successful career at Yale where he won the school's first men's hockey national championship. During the 2012-13 national title season, he scored 15 times and assisted 14 more goals in 37 total games.
Laganiere tallied 46 goals and 39 assists in 122 games for Yale and made the All-Ivy Second Team as well as the conference's All-Academic Team in his final collegiate season.
