Danick Gauthier Re-Signed

NORFOLK, VA – The Norfolk Admirals, ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers, are proud to announce the re-signing of forward Danick Gauthier for the 2016-17 season. Gauthier came to the Ads in March of 2016 and concluded the year with a strong nine points in 13 games. First-year bench boss Rod Aldoff said of the winger, “Danick has an elite skill set for this league. I’m looking for him to have a big year for us not only on the ice but as a leader in the locker room as well.” The 24-year-old Canadian has spent stints of four seasons in the ECHL, and was named an All-Star in 2014-15 while averaging over a point-per-page with the Wichita Thunder. On top of his vast tenure within the league, the left-handed shot also brings 60 games of American Hockey League experience. “He’s a guy who has been around and possesses the ability to be a game-changer each and every night. Having someone like that is crucial. On top of that, I know he’s been working extra hard this off-season and I’m really looking forward to coaching him,” Aldoff continued. The Admirals begin the 2016-17 season on Friday, October 14 against the Kalamazoo Wings at the Norfolk Scope.
