NORFOLK, VA- The Norfolk Admirals, proud ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers, are thrilled to share that forward Ryan Salkeld will be returning for the 2016-17 season. The Portsmouth, Virginia native, and inspiration behind the seasons slogan of “Hometown Hockey”, comes back to the Admirals after joining the team following an impressive four years at Buffalo State College. "Ryan had a great college career and came in at the end of last season to get a taste of pro hockey. I’m looking for him to compete hard at camp and use that experience from last season to be prepared to earn a spot on our team,” his new head coach Rod Aldoff remarked. The right-handed forward got on the fast track to a career in hockey thanks to a few dazzling seasons with the Hampton Roads Whalers program while growing up. Commonly seen in the community, Coach Aldoff knows that Salkeld is well on his way to being a fan-favorite. “He is a great person away from the rink and the type of person you want in your locker room. I can't wait to see what he's able to do in his first full year as a professional.” The Admirals begin the 2016-17 season on Friday, October 14 against the Kalamazoo Wings at the Norfolk Scope. Season tickets and ten packs are on sale now and can be purchased by calling 757-640-1212.
