Allen, Currie Get PTO's From Edmonton

NORFOLK, VA. - The Edmonton Oilers, NHL affiliate of the Norfolk Admirals, announced the signing of two former Ads to professional tryout contracts on Monday. Scott Allen, 26, spent 37 games in Norfolk last season, recording 13 goals and 17 assists for a total of 30 points. Acquired from the Missouri Mavericks in November, Allen accumulated four points in five games prior to the transfer. The 6'3" - 198 lbs. winger originally hails from Edmonton. Josh Currie, 23, played for the Admirals in 2015-16, tallying six goals and six assists in 13 games. After being loaned from the Ads to the Bakersfield Condors (AHL) in November, Currie tacked on another 24 points in 53 games. The 5'10" - 172 lbs. forward has experience at both center and wing, and will look to display his tools in front of the parent teams staff. Both men will attend the Oilers main training camp, which begins September 22. The Oilers will have 62 total players at the function. The Admirals begin the 2016-17 season on Friday, October 14th against the Kalamazoo Wings at the Norfolk Scope.
