NORFOLK, VA. - Norfolk Admirals President Michael Santos announced the addition of Paul Krepelka to the team's hockey operations department on Monday.
"Paul's pedigree as a hockey executive, as well as his experience playing for this organization, makes him a perfect fit with our new and growing hockey operations department," said Santos.
Krepelka, 48, will serve as the team's Hockey Operations Manager, effective immediately. In his role, the former Hampton Roads Admiral (1991-1993) will be assisting the organization in scouting players across North America, negotiating contracts and monitoring the team's salary cap.
"I want to help bring this team back to what it was during the early championship times, both on and off the ice. I have very fond memories of playing here and as I look back on it, the time I spent here was undoubtedly some of the best years of my life," Krepelka remarked.
On top of winning a Riley Cup with the Admirals in 1992, the Arlington, Massachusetts native went on to spend 20 years as an agent/partner with the Orr Hockey Group. Twice Krepelka represented a #1 overall selection in the NHL Draft.
Educationally, Paul has received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University, as well as a Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School.
Krepelka was in Norfolk for this past weekend's games, however will largely be completing his work remotely from Boston, MA.
