NORFOLK, VA. - The Bakersfield Condors, AHL affiliate of the Norfolk Admirals, announced on Thursday that the team has reassigned defenseman Frankie Simonelli to the ECHL affiliate.
Simonelli, 24, started the season with the Admirals but was called up to sunshine state after just seven games. During his time in Norfolk, Simonelli ranked as high as third in shots by defensemen in all of the ECHL.
This is the second blue liner this week the Admirals have received from Bakersfield, as Simonelli joins Mikael Tam, who was assigned on Tuesday. Tam contributed a goal in Wednesday's 4-3 shootout win over South Carolina.
Simonelli will return to wearing #77 and is expected to be available to play this weekend in games two and three of the series against South Carolina.
