NORFOLK, VA. – The Norfolk Admirals completed a trade with the Idaho Steelheads on Wednesday, sending defenseman Aaron Harstad out west in exchange for forward Brady Vail.
Vail, a 22-year-old forward, comes to Norfolk after having played 24 games for the Fort Wayne Komets this year and 18 at the American Hockey League level with the Rochester Americans. Nearly a point-per-game player with Fort Wayne, the 6’0” – 194 lbs. center was selected in the fourth round of the 2012 National Hockey League Draft by the Montreal Canadians.
Born in Hendersonville, NC, Vail was just traded from Fort Wayne to Idaho on Tuesday as a beginning stage of this three-team deal.
Aaron Harstad, 24, was the Admirals All-Star representative last month in Adirondack and had played 33 games with Norfolk this season.
Vail will not arrive in Norfolk in time for tonight’s game, however the Admirals will take on the Greenville Swamp Rabbits this evening at 7:15 at Norfolk Scope Arena.
