Admirals Announce Group Of Roster Moves

NORFOLK, VA. – The Norfolk Admirals announced a group of roster moves ahead of Sunday’s game against the Manchester Monarchs, which gets underway at 3 P.M. this afternoon.

First, the team released forward Jack Lewis from his amateur tryout.  Lewis joined Norfolk on Thursday, March 2 and participated in five games with the team, recording one point.

The team also added Trevor Gerling to its active roster.  Gerling, who was acquired from Greenville in exchange for the rights to Brodie Dupont on Thursday, is expected to make his team debut today and will wear #7.

Additionally, the Admirals successfully were awarded a waiver claim for forward Scott Jacklin.  The Brampton Beast released Jacklin, 27, after playing 23 games for the team this season.  A second-year pro from Robert Morris University has 69 games of total ECHL experience with Brampton and Elmira.  He will wear #21 and is also expected to make his team debut today.

Lastly, the team has signed goaltender Brett Kilar to an amateur tryout.  Kilar, a 24-year-old goaltender who just completed his career at New England College, will join Philippe Desrosiers in the goaltending tandem after Brandon Anderson was placed on reserve due to an injury.  Born in California, Kilar spent a year in Hampton Roads in 2012-13, playing for the Hampton Roads Whalers.  He will wear #35.

Following today’s contest against Manchester the team travels to Reading for a game on Tuesday evening before returning home for St. Hat Trick’s Day Weekend.

Friday, March 17 the team will have drink specials for a 7:30 puck drop and Saturday, March 18 is Sell Out The Scope Night, plus Pucks and Paws, as folks are allowed to bring their dog to the game for just a $5 donation to a local animal shelter.  Additionally, there is a cap giveaway sponsored by BB&T, green ice and green jerseys to encompass the holiday flare.  Following the game the team will be auctioning off the green jerseys to benefit Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Tickets for both games are on sale now on Ticketmaster.com and at the Norfolk Scope Arena box office.
