NORFOLK, VA. – The Norfolk Admirals, ECHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators, announced the completion of their final two future considerations trades on Monday.
The Admirals have sent forward Kyle Dutra to the Rapid City Rush, completing a deal that gave Norfolk the rights to Brenden Walker on December 19.
Dutra, 24, joined the Admirals on March 17 as a college free agent from Mercyhurst University. He had four points in 12 games.
In a separate trade, the Admirals acquired the rights to forward Trevor Mingoia from the Atlanta Gladiators, completing a three-team trade with the Wheeling Nailers. The Admirals sent defenseman Mike Kreig to Wheeling on March 2 and the Gladiators needed to complete a deal that brought Shane Bakker to Atlanta from the Nailers in September.
Mingoia, 25, is a 5’10” – 178 lbs. winger from Fairport, NY. In his first full season of pro hockey in 2016-17, the right-handed shot had 40 points in 60 games.
A Union College turned Providence College product, Mingoia was a member of the 2014-15 team that won an NCAA Championship. His senior season he totaled 37 points in 36 games.
Following school he signed with the Albany Devils of the American Hockey League and to conclude his 2016-17 campaign, Mingoia played a pair of games on a loan with the San Antonio Rampage.
The Admirals will kick off their 2017-18 campaign in October, with the home opener coming on Friday the 27th against the South Carolina Stingrays.
Season memberships are on sale now and start as low $500 for 36 games at Norfolk Scope Arena. Memberships can be purchased by contacting the Admirals at 757-640-1212 or on norfolkadmirals.com.
