Vail Inked For 2017-18

NORFOLK, VA. – The Norfolk Admirals, proud new ECHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators, announced the re-signing of forward Brady Vail today.

Vail, 23, joined the Admirals for the final month of the 2016-17 season after being acquired in a trade from the Idaho Steelheads.

“Obviously I only got a little taste at the end of the season but I really liked the city and the fans,” the newest addition said. “I’m getting really excited to get things going and just getting back to playing some hockey.”

The former fourth round draft selection of the Montreal Canadiens, Vail spent 18 games at the American Hockey League level last year with the Rochester Americans.

“Up there I definitely learned quite a bit about playing with different guys and becoming an adaptable player. It forces you to move at a different speed. Overall though, it was great for me and taught me that I need to remain focused,” the left-handed shot continued with.

In 2015-16, his first full season at the ECHL level, the Hendersonville, NC born striker finished just outside the Top 20 in league scoring with 58 points.

“I like to use my speed a lot, I like to create offense and I like to get everyone around me involved. I can play at either center or the wing and I’m really going to try and create space in order to use my shot. That’s what I’d really like to show the fans this year.”

Brady and the Admirals kick off the 2017-18 season in Idaho on October 13 and will get things underway at Scope on Friday, October 27.
