NORFOLK, VA. – The Norfolk Admirals, ECHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators, announced the acquisition of forward Logan Nelson from Rapid City and the signing of goaltender Ty Reichenbach Thursday morning.
Nelson, a fourth-year pro, joins the Admirals after recording 33 points (12g, 21a) in 49 games split between Rapid City and Wichita last season. The Rogers, MN native has appeared in 146 ECHL games netting 82 points (41g, 41a) since making his professional debut with Quad City in 2014. Prior to turning pro Nelson spent three seasons with Victoria (WHL) averaging just under a point per game.
Norfolk also announced the signing of netminder Ty Reichenbach. Reichenbach, 24, capped off a three-year career with Norwich University last season by winning the NCAA DIII National Championship. In 45 games with the Cadets, Reichenbach posted a record of 29-6-4 with a 1.85 GAA and a 0.922 save percentage.
Norfolk opens the season tomorrow night on the road against the Idaho Steelheads. The team will return home from a five-game road swing October 27 for back-to-back games against South Carolina.
