Norfolk, VA – Admirals forward Grant Besse has signed a PTO with the Cleveland Monsters the Admirals announced on Saturday morning.
Besse, 22, leads the Admirals in goals (30) and ranks second in points (62) in his rookie campaign. He is also the first Admiral to reach the 30-goal mark since the 2011-12 season. A native of Plymouth, MN, Besse leads all ECHL rookies in points and goals, and is second in assists. He is also ninth among all ECHL skaters in points.
Prior to turning pro the forward spent four seasons at the University of Wisconsin, where Besse totaled 97 points (39g, 58a) in 138 games with the Badgers. Originally a fifth-round pick of the Anaheim Ducks in 2013, this is Besse’s second call-up this season. He previously signed a PTO with the Tucson Roadrunners in December, but did not appear in a game.
The Admirals return to action on Saturday, March 24 as they wrap up a three-game series with the Florida Everblades in Estero.
