CHUARD SIGNS FOR 2018-19 SEASON
Swiss Born Defenseman Returns After Appearing in 23 Games Last Season
July 24, 2018
Norfolk, VA – The Norfolk Admirals, ECHL affiliate of the Arizona Coyotes, have agreed to terms with defenseman Romain Chuard for the 2018-19 season.
The Swiss-born defenseman appeared in 23 games for the Admirals last season after joining the team in February. Chuard notched a pair of points (1g, 1a) over the span and added 26 penalty minutes.
“Norfolk gave me a chance to improve a lot in a short period of time last season,” said Chuard. “It was without hesitation that I wanted to sign back for another year and keep improving on and off the ice. I’m looking forward to coming back and giving my all for the organization and fans!”
Before joining the Admirals, Chuard played 74 professional games in his native Switzerland, including 42 games in the National League A, Switzerland’s top league, with hometown Geneve-Servette HC. Last season the blue-liner recorded eight points (4g, 4a) in 17 games with HC Sion-Nendaz 4 Vallées in the Swiss third-tier.
Chuard is the third defenseman inked by Norfolk, joining Chase Harrison and Zane Schartz.
Norfolk will open the 2018-19 season on October 13 at home against the Wheeling Nailers. Full and partial season tickets are now available by visiting NorfolkAdmirals.com or calling the Admirals office at (757) 640-1212.
