Admirals Drop Close Defensive Battle To South Carolina, 2-1

CHARLESTON, SC - The Norfolk Admirals, proud ECHL affiliates of the Carolina Hurricanes, fell to the South Carolina Stingrays 2-1 on Saturday Night.

After a scoreless first period, the Stingrays scored first, four minutes into the second period while short-handed on a goal from Jade Miller. South Carolina extended their lead minutes later to take a 2-0 lead with a goal from former Admirals captain, Ben Holmstrom.

The Admirals scored their lone goal with 8:10 remaining in the second period on a shot from Carter Robertson. Robertson returned from missing 10 games due to injury, and scored his third goal of the season tonight.

Michael Bullion made his Admirals debut tonight in goal with a solid performance. Bullion made 28 saves on 30 shots.

With the loss, the Admirals drop to 12-18-1-1, and are back in action tomorrow when they take on the Atlanta Gladiators at 3pm.
