NORFOLK, VA – The Norfolk Admirals announced today that the team has re-signed Forward Michael Citara to a contract for the 2026-27 season.
Citara joined the Admirals in the latter half of the 2025-26 season on a standard player contract in March. He suited up in 13 games for Norfolk and had five assists.
"Michael wanted to have a big off-season with his training program,” said Head Coach and General Manager Jeff Carr. “He has goal-scoring and points ability in him - he’s proven that in Junior and College; now it’s time to do that in Pro as an Admiral."
“I couldn’t be more excited and grateful to play in Norfolk this coming year," Citara Stated. "It’s truly an honor to be apart of such a great organization. The energy and support from the fans every night is like no other. I am looking forward to doing everything I can to help this team win."
Before signing with Norfolk, the New Hope, PA native completed a five-year NCAA career, spending time with Providence College, Merrimack College and the University of Alaska, Fairbanks.
He totaled 27 goals and 26 assists for 53 points in 106 games in college, with 31 of his points coming with Alaska in 2025-26 before joining the Admirals. Citara was nearly a point-per-game player with 16 goals and 15 assists in 33 games with the Nanooks
Before playing NCAA, Citara had one season in the United States Hockey League (USHL) with the Sioux Falls Stampede, where he notched 17 goals and 18 assists for 35 points in 51 games.
