Admirals Ink Besse, Melancon

NORFOLK, VA. – The Norfolk Admirals, ECHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators, announced the signings of forward Grant Besse and defenseman TJ Melancon on Monday evening.

Besse, a 2013 fifth-round draft pick of the Anaheim Ducks, recently concluded a four-year career at the University of Wisconsin. In 138 collegiate games, the former Minnesota Mr. Hockey winner totaled 97 points (39g, 58a). The

Plymouth, MN native led the Badgers in scoring during his sophomore and junior seasons.

Melancon, 21, joins Norfolk after attending training camp with the Milwaukee Admirals. The 6’2”, 210 lb defenseman spent three seasons with Blainville-Boisbriand Armada (QMJHL) recording 99 points (29g, 70a) in 200 games. The Ottawa, ON native led all QMJHL defensemen in goals during the 2016-17 season with 19.

Norfolk will open training camp later this week. Dates and times of practices, as well as a full training camp roster will be announced at a later date.
