Norfolk, Va. - Head Coach Eric Veilleux and the Norfolk Admirals announce today that they have signed goaltender Tyler Green to a Standard Player’s Contract (SPC). Green, 24, recently concluded a four-year college career at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The Noblesville, IN native appeared in 51 games through four seasons, posting a 2.06 goals against average (GAA), 0.933 save percentage (SAV%), and record of 30-16-4. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound netminder is 4th all-time in SAV% (.933), 2nd all-time in GAA (2.06), and tied for 1st all-time in shutouts (9) in University of Wisoncin-Eau Claire history. In 2016, Green was the first player in University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire program history to earn the All-WIAC (Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) Player of the Year award, ranked 2nd among all goaltenders for the 2015-16 season. He was part of the 2012-13 NCAA III championship team and accumulated a 2.79 GAA and 0.912 SAV% in 73 regular season games in the North American Hockey League (NAHL). The Admirals return to home ice against the Reading Royals tonight, March 18th and tomorrow, Saturday, March 19th where they will play on green ice for the first time in Admirals history.
