NORFOLK, VA. - The Norfolk Admirals, proud ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers, announced the addition of forwards Maxime St-Cyr and Domenic Alberga on Monday. St-Cyr, 22, comes to Norfolk with one season of pro hockey under his belt. The 5'7" - 176 lbs. Canadian is no stranger to lighting the lamp, winning the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League award for most goals scored (54) in 2014-15 as a member of the Baie-Comeau Drakkar. "Maxime is a fantastic player. He had one heck of a junior career, which he followed up with a good year last year in Florida," head coach Rod Aldoff remarked. "To me he's the type of guy who needs a place to really showcase his skill, and we're going to give him that chance, so I expect to see flashes of it really early. I'm excited to have him and think he has the potential to become an elite player in this league for certain." The Admirals also welcomed 6'1" - 209 lbs. Domenic Alberga to the fold to start the week. The 24-year-old forward turned pro at the conclusion of the 2014-15 season with the Greenville Road Warriors, and totaled 56 games played with three different organizations last year, spending the majority with the Wichita Thunder. Aldoff said of the signing, "Domenic is a heart and soul type of player that's going to come to work for us every single day. With his package, he's going to give everything he's got, whether it's a game or a practice and it's important to have someone like that. You can never overlook having someone like that on your team. He'll do all the little things right for us." With the additions of St-Cyr and Alberga, the Admirals have currently announced the signing of 15 total players. By position, the names are as follows: FORWARD: Steven Whitney, Mike Seidel, Ryan Salkeld, Paul Rodrigues, Alexandre Ranger, Devin Mantha, Nick MacNeil, Danick Gauthier, Josh Brittain, Maxime St-Cyr and Domenic Alberga. DEFENSE: Gabriel Verpaelst, Steven Tarasuk and Aaron Harstad. GOALTENDER: Connor Knapp. The Admirals begin the 2016-17 season on Friday, October 14th against the Kalamazoo Wings at the Norfolk Scope.
