NORFOLK, VA - The Norfolk Admirals, proud ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers, shared the signing of forward Alexandre Ranger on Monday, courtesy of head coach Rod Aldoff. Ranger, 21, turned pro with the Admirals during the summer of 2015 after a successful career in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. #9 compiled 23 points last season by way of 11 goals and 12 assists. I've heard Alex is the type of guy that plays with his heart and soul every day, practice or game, and I like that a lot. Our assistant coach Ben Boudreau has said nothing but great things about him, saying he's a guy that shows up every single day and I want guys like that in our locker room this year, the Admirals bench boss stated. On top of his 45 games played with Norfolk, Ranger spent 17 games in the American Hockey League, on a loan with the St. John's IceCaps. While with the organization, the 5'11" 180 lbs. winger tallied three points. Aldoff believes that the Quebec-born right-handed shot will certainly get another crack in the AHL very soon. "I know at some point this year, whether it's to start or after a bit he's going to get a shot in Bakersfield. I'm very confident in that. However, when and if he's here, he's going to be a great addition to our lineup. The Admirals begin the 2016-17 season on Friday, October 14 against the Kalamazoo Wings at the Norfolk Scope.
