PRINCETON, N.J. - Brandon Anderson of the Norfolk Admirals is the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Jan. 9-15. It is the third time in his career that he has received the weekly honor.Anderson went 2-0-0 with shutouts in both of his appearances last week.
The 24-year-old stopped all 17 shots he faced in a 5-0 win at Greenville on Friday and turned aside all 27 shots in a 3-0 victory over the Swamp Rabbits on Saturday.
A native of Langley, British Columbia, Anderson's shutout streak ended at 269:36 on Monday against Atlanta, the second-longest individual shutout streak in ECHL history. That mark also set a new ECHL record for longest shutout sequence by a team in league history.
Anderson has appeared in 10 games for the Admirals this season with a record of 8-1-0, a 1.89 goals-against average and a save percentage of. 934. He ranks third in the league with three shutouts.
He has seen action in 85 career ECHL games with Norfolk, Reading, South Carolina and Tulsa posting an overall record of 47-27-6 with 10 shutouts, a 2.73 goals-against average and a .901 save percentage.
Prior to turning pro, Anderson saw action in 138 games in the Western Hockey League with Brandon and Lethbridge.
